By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them.

Acceptance

You may use Kaminow only if you can form a binding contract with us and you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use the service on behalf of an organization, you have authority to bind it to these Terms.

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 in the EEA/UK (13 elsewhere, or the minimum age required in your country). You are responsible for compliance with local laws where you use Kaminow.

Safety first: conditions change rapidly outdoors. Verify routes, weather, closures, and your abilities before starting.
Safety and mapping accuracy

Tracks, routes, POIs, and map layers may be imprecise, incomplete, or outdated. They do not reflect on-the-ground hazards (e.g., landslides, seasonal closures). Always bring appropriate equipment and backup navigation.

You are solely responsible for your decisions in the field. Use official sources where required (land managers, avalanche centers, park notices).

Your content and licenses

You own the content you create and upload to Kaminow (e.g., tracks, photos, descriptions).

To operate and improve the service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, modify, and display your content as needed to provide features you use (e.g., sync, share, publish). You can revoke this license by deleting your content. Public content may remain cached or archived for a limited time.

You are responsible for your content. We may remove or restrict content that violates these Terms or applicable law.

Acceptable use
  • Respect people, wildlife, and local communities; follow Leave No Trace principles.
  • No illegal, infringing, harassing, or hateful content or behavior.
  • Do not scrape, bulk-download, or reverse engineer the service.
  • Do not attempt to bypass rate limits, access controls, or security features.
  • Only upload content you have the right to share; honor others' privacy and consent.
We may suspend or terminate accounts to keep the community safe and the service reliable.
Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. Maps and route data are provided for convenience and may contain errors.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kaminow and its affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of the service or outdoor activities.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect new features or legal requirements. We will post the new version and update the effective date. For material changes, we will provide reasonable advance notice in-app or by email.

Third-party services

The service may integrate third-party maps, weather, or payment providers. Their terms and privacy policies govern your use of those services.

Frequently asked questions

Can I export or delete my data?

Yes. Use the in-app controls or contact us. Deleting your account removes your personal data subject to backup and legal requirements.

Are routes always accurate?
